Andrew was a co-founder of Software.com in 1993 and helped lead the development and growth of Software.com from inception through IPO in 1999. After Software.com merged with Phone.com in 2000 to create Openwave, Andrew continued with Openwave VP/GM of Openwave's Messaging Business Unit until 2005. In 2006, Andrew co-founded Buzzwire, which focused on multimedia streaming solutions for wireless carriers. Andrew and Christine Ekman together started Mobile Pulse in the Fall of 2010.
Mark Cope brings twenty years of Enterprise Sales Leadership and Business Development experience to Mobile Pulse, having held numerous senior positions in the Enterprise Mobility space. Prior to Mobile Pulse, Mark was VIce President of Enterprise Sales at Mformation, a leading Mobile Device Management company. At Mformation, Mark was responsible for the go to market and sales execution strategy for the Enterprise business unit, leading Mformation into the Enterprise market.
Ed brings over 25 years of software development experience to Mobile Pulse. He has held a variety of senior engineering management roles at both startups and larger organizations. Ed was a co-founder and Vice President of Engineering at Buzzwire. Previously he was Vice President of Engineering at Openwave Systems where he was responsible for delivery of Openwave’s products and solutions for mobile, messaging and client software. Before Openwave, Ed held a variety of engineering positions at startups in the Boston area.
As VP, Government Solutions, Kevin consults with all levels of government on their mobile broadband connectivity needs. Prior to Mobile Pulse, Kevin spent over a decade as Chief Technology Officer at the Town of Castle Rock, which was recognized in 2010 as the #1 digital city in the nation. Recently, the Denver Business Journal recognized Kevin as CIO of the Year in Colorado. Kevin also services as Mobile Pulse’s Chief Privacy Officer. Kevin received his MBA from the University of Colorado and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional.
As Director of Market Development, Hyla is responsible for company marketing initiatives and development and support of enterprise customer relationships. Hyla has a diverse background in Product Marketing and Sales. She brings 12 years of corporate and startup experience in product management, marketing and sales in financial services, software, internet solutions.
Christine has been advising startups and venture investors for over 12 years at Evolve Adapt Survive. Her clients have included SMARTS (now EMC), NGT (Comcast), Broadsoft, Grotech among many others. Previous to Evolve, Christine worked in mergers and acquisitions for Bay Networks (Nortel) and previous to that she worked as a network design engineer at US WEST (CenturyLink).
Since 2002, Scott has been the managing partner for Franklin Court Partners, LLC. From 1998 to 2001, Chandler was chief financial officer (1998 - 2000) and senior vice president for global business development (2000 - 2001) for RHYTHMS NetConnections, a leading provider of broadband services utilizing digital subscriber line (DSL) technology. Chandler also served as president and chief executive officer of C-COR.net, a pioneer in the cable television industry. Under his leadership, C-COR.net's revenues increased to over $150 million, and it was named by FORTUNE magazine as one of the 100 fastest-growing public companies.
Sid has a track record of building and leading successful, venture-backed companies in the mobile, information/analytics and B2B2C Internet markets. Sid was most recently head of strategy for The Nielsen Company (NLSN), the world's largest consumer data and analytics company. Sid joined Nielsen in 2007 through its $450M acquisition of Telephia, where he served as CEO. Telephia was the leading provider of consumer data to the U.S. mobile industry. Prior to Telephia, Sid was on the founding team and Chief Operating Officer of OpenTable.com (OPEN) a global reservation network for fine dining restaurants. Sid started his career with Pyramid Research, an information company focussed on telecom markets in developing countries that was acquired by The Economist. Sid holds an MBA from UC Berkeley's Haas School and BA from Trinity College.
Bob McKenzie is a director of Crown Castle International (NYSE: CCI) and serves on its Strategy and Audit Committees. As an independent board member he has helped build telecommunications and technology companies, including Vector ESP, Inc, an IT services company, CO Space, a computer server co-location facilities company; Velocom, Inc., a provider of wireless telephone and Internet service in Brazil; and Cordillera Communications, a mobile communications provider in the US, Peru, Ecuador, and Chile. Bob founded and was director and President/COO of OneComm, Inc., a mobile wireless business communications provider. He held general management positions with Northern Telecom, Inc. and Memorex, Inc. He began his career with Eastman Kodak in its Business Systems Markets Division.

In 1998, Roger initiated the IEEE 802.16 Working Group on Broadband Wireless Access. He has chaired that standardization group since inception, leading the development of the first 4G standard for broadband wireless, currently incorporated in ITU's IMT-2000 and IMT-Advanced. Marks serves on the Executive Committee of the IEEE 802 Standards Committee. He spent 17 years as a physicist with the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in Boulder, Colorado, later serving as Senior Vice President with NextWave Wireless and Vice President for Technology with the WiMAX Forum. Roger was recognized as an IEEE Fellow in 2000 "for contributions to standards and measurement techniques for wireless communication systems and components." He has received the IEEE Technical Field Award for Outstanding Contributions in Electrical Measurement. Marks holds a Ph.D. in Applied Physics from Yale University.
Joseph R. Zell joined Grotech as a General Partner in 2002. At Grotech Ventures, Joe focuses on investment opportunities in the communications, networking, software and outsourcing sectors. Joe currently serves or has served on several portfolio company boards including Aztek Networks, BroadSoft, buySAFE, Collective Intellect, Fieldglass, Giveo, Hatteras Networks, HiveLive, Logrhythm, SkyeTek, Rebit, USinternetworking and Ziptronix. Prior to joining Grotech, Joe built an extensive, 20-year operating background in communications and data networking, including nine years with US West Communications (which is now Qwest Communications), where he was instrumental in building US West's Data Networking Division from startup to $2.5 billion in revenue and was the president of the division for four years.
